Q. What is the difference between your holistic license and the city of Toronto license
A. The holistic health practitioner license is only issued to members who have graduated from a Holistic Health Practitioner Training Program, spa practitioner or natural health practitioner program, esthetics program and have met NAHHP requirement and pass all the necessary requirement of the holistic health practitioner training program, and whose course curriculum is recognized by the NAHHP.
The license that is issued by the municipality of Toronto is a business license that enables holistic practitioners to register as a legitimate holistic health business in Toronto. This business license differentiate the holistic health practitioner as legitimate health care professional as opposed to an undesirable body rub workers working in an unlicensed body rub facility. By being a licensed member of the NAHHP, enables the trained holistic health practitioner, esthetician, and spa practitioner to obtain business license to operate a spa with cities, jurisdiction, and municipalities without any difficulties.
Q. Who is eligible to apply for license with the NAHHP? A. Only individuals who have completed a diploma or course of certificates in holistic health, modalities listed on the list of holistic modalities, esthetics, or medical esthetics course in a recognized college, accredited school or private education institution. The program must have anatomy and physiology in the curriculum, the program may be in, natural health, Spa therapy esthetics or holistic health studies. The school program or curriculum must be approved and meet the standards as set by NAHHP.
Q. I'm a holistic health practitioner can you help me find professional liability insurance ?
A. Yes, only if you are a member with NAHHP and meet all the requirements. With this you will get preferred rates with holistic insurance.ca.
Q. Can Holistic Health Practitioners, Spa Practitioner or Natural Health Practitioner outside Canada apply for certification?
A. Yes the NAHHP license membership body is made up of practitioners from many countries. However, referral for malpractice insurance is only valid for member in Canada only at this time. Q. Do I need to graduate from a school recognized by your organization to be eligible to join ?
A. No, however we prefer that you completed your program in a recognized college, private career college, private education institution recognized by NAHHP. However, once we receive your application, payment and documentation and if we require further questions we will contact you.
Q. Most organization charge an annual fee, does NAHHP charge an annual fee.
A.Yes there is a annual membership and application. If membership is not renew the member will lose theirs membership status with NAHHP.
Q. I don't own a credit card can I pay for my membership fee by cheque? A. Yes, you may pay by a certified cheque for you first registration, after that for renewal you may pay by paypal. We discourage the method of sending cash in the mail. Q. How soon do I receive my membership certificate after paying?
A. You will receive your license certificate only after payment, documentation and transcript copies of your transcripts are received. Payment must be received by the accreditation board then the application can be process duration approximately 15 days .
Q. I would like for my school's esthetic or holistic health practitioner training program to be accredited by NAHHP.
A. If you are a private career college, private education institution, community college, then your school can apply to get your program accredited by contacting us.
